DES MOINES —
The Ottumwa bowling teams both stayed perfect in their still young seasons with dual victories over Des Moines Roosevelt Monday at Air Lanes in Des Moines.
Bailey Palmer led the way for the girls team, as she bowled a 217 and the Bulldogs triumphed over the Roughriders 2846-1991. Techel said his team’s target goal before the dual was 2850.
Austin Palmer led the boys with a score of 240 and Ottumwa prevailed 2515-1628.
Lynnissa Lasley followed Palmer with a score of 191. Plus Sydney Swallow and Payton Wilbanks both bowled a 187, Michaela Malloy 183 and Sadie Shaw 174.
“We still need to work on our Baker games,” girls coach Doug Techel said. “Overall, it was a pretty good match.”
Behind Palmer was Anthony Roberts with a score of 227 and Joey Lee, who rolled a 201. In addition, Isaac Goodman bowled a 191, Braxton Coble finished with a score of 172 and Jordan Mitchell 163.
“This meet was better for us than the first one, but we still have some silly mistakes we need to fix,” boys coach Brett Salter said.
The Ottumwa girls and boys junior varsity teams also triumphed in their duals. The girls topped the Roughriders 2515-1628 and boys prevailed 2543-2020.
The Ottumwa bowling teams’ home openers are Thursday against CIML Metro Conference rivals Des Moines Lincoln at Champion Bowl.
