OTTUMWA —
The Ottumwa boys basketball game originally scheduled for tonight in Ottumwa against Ankeny has been postponed. The contest will now be played on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Evans Middle School in Ottumwa.
Ankeny — which will be celebrating its 2012 state football championship tonight — finished third in the state in basketball last season, advancing to the Class 4A state semifinals before falling to Sioux City East in double overtime. The Hawks were 25-1 overall. The Bulldogs were 9-13 overall last season. Ottumwa will now open the season Friday on the road at Southeast Polk. The first home game for the Bulldog boys will be Tuesday, Dec. 4 when Ottumwa hosts Cedar Rapids Xavier at Evans Middle School.
The Ottumwa girls varsity basketball game against Ankeny scheduled for tonight in Ottumwa will be played, with the freshmen starting at 4:45 p.m., the junior varsity scheduled for 6:15 p.m. and the varsity game scheduled for 7:45 p.m. at Evans Middle School.
