OTTUMWA —
Time and Place: 7 p.m. tonight at the Hellyer Student Life Center in Ottumwa.
Broadcast Info: The game will be carried live on KMGO radio (98.7 FM), KEDB radio (105.3 FM) and on the Internet at www.kmgo.com.
Records: Third-ranked (DI) Indian Hills is 26-3 overall, 7-0 in Region XI play. Marshalltown is 21-8 and 2-5 in Region XI.
Playing for positioning, playing for pride: Marshalltown and Indian Hills come into this game looking for victory for two different reasons. The Tigers enter tonight needing a win to avoid playing against Northeast Nebraska in Region XI’s first play-in game on Monday. A Marshalltown win would send them to Iowa Western Wednesday for the regional semifinals while Southeastern would host Northeast in the play-in game with that winner heading to IHCC. The Warriors, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back after an 84-64 loss at Moberly Area Tuesday coming on the heels of five players being suspended after last Saturday’s postgame brawl at Southeastern. Those five players, Ronald Ross, Richard Amardi, Dustin Hogue, Ronnie Stevens and Rawane Ndiaye, will also be suspended for tonight’s game. Warriors head coach Barret Peery will be returning to the sideline after having to serve his own one-game suspension
‘Blackout’ scheduled for regular season finale: Tonight will be a special night for several reasons. It is ‘blackout’ night, which Warrior fans can participate in by wearing their black IHCC gear. Indian Hills will also induct their second class into its school’s athletic hall-of-fame at halftime and its sophomore night with 10 Warrior sophomores being honored after tonight’s game.
Coach Peery says: “Our game plan isn’t going to be any different. It’s going to be business as usual and whether we have eight guys or 13 guys, we expect to win this game.”
