OTTUMWA —
The Ottumwa swim team fell to Des Moines Lincoln 106-64 at The Beach Ottumwa Tuesday.
The dual started out well for the Bulldogs. Swimming together for the first time, the team of Marissa Rupalo, Caroline Carlson, Maranda Rupalo and Hannah Wolver took first in the 200 Medlay Relay with a time of 2:14.69.
“We knew it would be a challenge when we entered,” Wolver said.
“And now we know that we work good together,” Carlson added.
The Bulldogs failed to pick up another first place finish in varsity action.
Danielle Noe, however, did manage to finish second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 29.34. Plus Claire Carlson took second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:12.33 and in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:14.42. Also, Caroline Carlson finished second in the 100 breaststroke with 1:23.29. The team of Noe, Wolver, Claire Carlson and Whitney Dostal claimed second in the 200 freestyle with 2:03.36.
In junior varsity action, senior Darby Patritto took first in the 50 freestyle with 35.51 and Sydney Ocker finished first in the 100 freestyle with 1:35.02.
The Bulldogs have a dual at Des Moines Roosevelt Tuesday.
