Warriors fall to Three Rivers

PARK HILLS, MO — The Indian Hills Warriors and head coach Jeff Kidder weren’t able to capture their first road win this season after a 55-47 lose to third-ranked Three Rivers Friday night at the Bob Sechrest Classic, hosted by Mineral Area College.

An eight-minute lull of offense for the Warriors left them down 37-21 early in the second half. The Warriors were within seven points to begin the half, but a nine-point run by the Three River Raiders left the Warriors playing catch-up all second half.

After snapping their cold streak, IHCC went on a blistering 20-7 run that was led by freshmen Dijon Farr. Farr’s 14 points topped the Warriors’ stat book and helped bring the team within four points late in the game. Aaron Austin added 10 points and Dwan McMillan scored seven points for the Warriors.

With three minutes left, and the score at 47-43, the Raiders snapped Indian Hills’ run and scored four unanswered points to stop the Warriors momentum, and give IHCC its second straight road loss.

Indian Hills (5-2) shot just 10-22 from the charity stripe and had trouble protecting the ball. The Warriors committed 24 turnovers in the loss.

Indian Hills plays host Mineral Area tonight at 7 p.m. Mineral Area beat Kennedy King Friday. The contest will tip off at 7 p.m.
