EDDYVILLE —
The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont girls team trampled Twin Cedars 74-48 Monday.
The Rockets offense featured a well-balanced attack, as three of EBF’s scored in double figures. Shunyl Busch and Makenzie Jensen led the team with 18 points each, Jarrah Jensen added 17 and Tasha Alexander chipped in 16.
EBF’s Emma Tanner and Alexander keyed the Rocket offense, as each girl served out four assists. Alexander also spearheaded the Rockets defensively with eight steals.
“They started to gell a little bit, find each other. ...,” EBF coach Tony Fenton said. “And that’s what you get, a night like this.”
Brittney Roby led Twin Cedars with 17 points and Alee Hugen added 16.
The Sabers fell behind EBF 15-6 by end of the first quarter, but they bounced back in the second and only trailed 33-27 at the half. Twin Cedars, however, failed to carry the momentum into the the second half, as the Rockets outscored the Sabers 17-5 in the second quarter.
Twin Cedars (8-2, 3-1) plays at Melcher-Dallas tonight in Bluegrass Conference action. Meanwhile, EBF (5-4, 3-1) plays a non-conference game tonight at Fairfield.
