OSKALOOSA —
The Ottumwa volleyball team went 2-3 Saturday in action at the Oskaloosa Tournament.
The Bulldogs took a 2-0 win over Centerville and a 2-1 win over Fairfield, but suffered a 2-0 loss to host Oskaloosa, a 2-1 loss to Gilbert and a 2-1 loss to Nevada.
The Bulldogs are now 16-16 on the season and will travel to Indianola next Saturday for tournament action.
Osky downed the Bulldogs 22-20 and 21-14, Gilbert defeated Ottumwa 13-21, 21-18 and 15-11, Ottumwa downed Fairfield 21-16, 23-25 and 15-8, the Bulldogs downed Centerville 25-20 and 25-18, and Nevada defeated Ottumwa 24-26, 25-21 and 15-12.
Katie Sammons led Ottumwa at the net with 70 kills and 10 blocks in the tournament. Olivia Roark led the back row with 97 digs, and Beth Overturf had 62 assists while Chloe Davis added 50.
At the service line, Megan Black was 41-45 with four aces, Overturf was a perfect 33-33 with four aces, Roark was 41-44 with eight aces, Katie Sammons served 34-37 with two aces, Davis was 47-47 with five aces and Ellie Hammack was a perfect 33-33 with three aces.
