NORTH ENGLISH —
The sixth-ranked Pekin football team stayed perfect Friday after pulverizing English Valleys 40-0 in a Class A, District 6 road game.
Quentin Garrels supplied the bulk of the offense for the Panthers, rushing for four touchdowns. In addition, Garrels amassed 233 yards on just 11 carries. As a team, Pekin finished with 337 rushing yards.
Pekin quarterback Graham Wittrock complemented the Panther run attack by tossing two touchdowns and throwing for 170 yards. His most popular target on this night was Cade Millikin, who caught three passes for 85 yards and scored a touchdown. Pekin running back Petie Club also scored a touchdown for the Panthers.
Defensively, Jared Bond led the charge for Pekin; he finished with a team-high 11 tackles.
Pekin jumped out to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter. By halftime, the Panthers had upped their lead to 32-0.
Pekin (6-0, 4-0) plays Montezuma Friday. Montezuma (5-1) is also 4-0 in district play.
