BLOOMFIELD —
Calvin Utt rushed for 101 yards and passed for 124 more as the Davis County football team celebrated homecoming with a 48-18 win over Clarke in Class 2A, District 6 action on Friday.
Colton Roberts added 81 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns as the Mustangs improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in district play.
Utt found Damen Dixon from 44 yards out for one scoring pass and located Park Mikels from eight yards for another, both in the first quarter as Davis County built a 21-6 lead early and led 34-12 at the half.
“We came out strong,” said Davis County coach Joe Rasmussen, “They got a couple long passes on us, but for the most part the boys played really well. It was a happy end to homecoming week.”
Roberts’ touchdowns came from one yard out in the first quarter and from nine yards out in the third, while Utt scored twice in the second quarter, once from 12 yards and once from five.
Dixon had three interceptions to lead the Mustang defense, while Mikels picked off one pass.
