OTTUMWA —
Some tickets still remain for the Indian Hills Community College Celebrity Night appearance of Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones. The event will be held on Thursday, March 7, in the Dining Room on the IHCC Ottumwa campus.
It will be the 32nd Annual Celebrity Night at Indian Hills and is one of three major fundraisers each year for the Indian Hills Foundation. All proceeds are used to fund student scholarships at the college.
Jones started all 18 games for Green Bay in the 2012 season, including the Packers’ two postseason contests. He led the team with 15 touchdown receptions, 14 of them in the regular season, a total that topped all NFL receivers.
Jones had his best season in his sixth year in the NFL, catching 72 passes for 922 yards, an average of 12.8 yards per reception.
For the first time in his career, he was voted by his teammates to be a playoff captain.
The San Jose State University alum was chosen by the Packers in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft.
The Celebrity Night schedule includes a social with the opportunity to meet Jones at 5:30 p.m. followed by a prime rib-seafood dinner at 6:30 and remarks by the Packer standout at 7:30.
Tickets are available by calling Leslie Moore at 641-683-5152. They can be purchased individually or by the table.
