OTTUMWA —
The Ottumwa swim team finished last out of seven teams at the Bobcat Invitational in Marshalltown Saturday with 70 points.
Fifth-ranked Johnson took first in the tourney by a landslide with 373 points and Lewis Central finished second with 228. Marshalltown finished right behind Lewis Central with 227. Fairfield took sixth place with 95.
Johnson’s Victoria Trost took first place in four different races: Two individual swims and two medley relays and her teammate Nicole Davis finished first in three events.
In spite of the last place finish, Ottumwa coach Stephanie Mishler saw some positive developments at the invite.
“Everyone had their fastest time of the year in something,” she said. “The goal is to keep moving in that direction.”
The other teams that competed in the invite were Marshalltown, 16th ranked Carroll and Boone.
The Bulldogs face Des Moines Hoover in a dual Tuesday.
