MOULTON —
Katelynn Tracy scored 24 points and Kendall Brown added 11 as the Moravia girls basketball team survived a scare from rival Moulton-Udell Friday night with a 58-56 win.
M-U’s Natalie Potter scored a game-high 26 points and Toni Clark posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Eagles (4-13) were within striking distance late but couldn’t quite overcome the Mohawks (16-2) in a back-and-forth contest.
“I thought the kids played very well,” said M-U coach Jason Ogden. “We were kind of outsized, but I was proud of the kids, they have played very well the last three weeks. Our record doesn’t show how well we have played recently.”
Both teams will take on bigger, South Central Conference schools to close the regular season today. Moulton-Udell hosts E-B-F while Moravia travels to Davis County.
