OTTUMWA —
ALBIA — The Albia Blue Demon baseball squad earned two South Central Conference victories over Eddyville-Blakesburg Thursday night by scores of 3-2, and 3-1.
The two SCC rivals needed eight innings to put game one to rest. Both squads scored two runs in the early innings of the game, before Albia capitalized on an E-B error to win the game.
With Tommy O’Leary on second base Albia hit a long fly ball to the outfield, but a Rocket outfielder error allowed O’Leary to score from second to end the game.
Game two saw the Blue Demons limit the Rockets to just two hits for the win. The two hits came off of the bats against Jake Crosby and Dimitri Boyer. Crosby’s double earned him an RBI.
Jake Dye pitched the two-hitter for Albia, striking out three.
Jake Stalzer drove in two runs for the Blue Demons and rapped out two doubles.
Albia (15-13, 10-6) host Davis County today.
