OTTUMWA —
Fairfield resident Matt Stutzman, the inspirational “armless archer,” advanced to the quarterfinals in the Men’s Archery Individual Compound — Open competition at the 2012 London Paralympics Friday by defeating the Czech Republic’s Jiri Klich 6-5 in an elimination match.
Stutzman, a living testament of the power of the human spirit; will compete again at 9:30 a.m. central time Sunday against fellow American Dugie Denton. If he wins that match, Stutzman will compete in the semifinals and, depending on the result of that match; the finals Monday.
