OTTUMWA —
When the Indian Hills basketball team leaves for their road game at Moberly (21-7) today, they will be doing so without their head coach or five of their players. The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference announced late Monday night that head coach Barret Peery along with Ronald Ross, Richard Amardi, Dustin Hogue, Ronnie Stevens and Rawane Ndiaye will all be suspended for tonight’s third-ranked Warriors’ (26-2) game as punishment for their roles in Saturday night’s postgame brawl at Southeastern.
Peery will only miss tonight’s game, as assistant coach John Wardenburg will serve as acting head coach. Amardi, Hogue, Stevens and Ndiaye will all miss the next two Warriors games while Ross will begin a three-game suspension tonight.
According to Peery, the ICCAC will also suspend five Southeastern players for their roles in Saturday’s brawl. There has been no word as to whether Blackhawks head coach Terry Carroll will also be suspended.
