DES MOINES —
The Ottumwa boys basketball team had one of those nights where nothing seems to go right Friday, as the Bulldogs fell to Des Moines Lincoln 70-41 in CIML Metro Conference action.
Carter Burns poured in a team-high 11 points for Ottumwa and Charlie Altfillisch and Austin Walker added eight points each.
An abundance of turnovers and poor shooting undercut Ottumwa’s chances to keep the game competitive.
“We are turning it over so much, but we are also shooting 36 percent as a team,” Bulldog coach Chris Gravett said. “We have to cut our turnovers down because we’re not going to suddenly shoot 55 or 60 percent. We have to get better and we have to get better as an entire unit.”
Ottumwa (1-10, 1-4) plays CIML Metro conference opponent Des Moines North in a makeup game today at Des Moines.
