ALBIA —
Tanner Kellogg produced an incredible double-double, pulling in 22 rebounds to match his game-high 22 points as Albia picked up their second win in a week over Davis County. The Blue Demons used a second-quarter surge to pull away for a 71-59 South Central Conference win over the Mustangs.
“The second quarter was big,” Albia head coach Kevin Archer said. “To be up 15 in the first half was big for us.”
Matt Baker added 14 points and five assists for the Blue Demons, who had four double figure scorers behind Kellogg.
“We were very well-balanced,” Archer said. “The way Tanner’s been rebounding for us lately has been special.”
Park Mikels led Davis County with 21 points while Calvin Utt added 11. The Mustangs (8-9, 3-5) head to Clarke while Albia (10-7, 5-3) hosts Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a pair of SCC matchups on Friday.
