WASHINGTON —
A woman is dead after an accident between a car and a Mack truck in Washington County.
The Iowa State Patrol released a report stating that around 11:30 a.m. Monday, a Norris Aphalt Paving truck registered in Ottumwa was heading west on 190th Street. A Chrysler car was eastbound on 190th.
The report states the driver of the truck, Danny Noble, 56, of New London, crossed the road to pull into a private business but struck the Chrysler head on.
The driver of the Chrysler was killed. She has been identified as Paula Lampe, 57, of Keota. Lampe was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Noble was also injured and was transported to Washington Hospital.
Further details were not available as of press time Monday, as the Iowa State Patrol reports that the accident still under investigation. However, the investigating officer said that charges are pending.
