Families can relax and enjoy a new menu at Tasty Burritos

OTTUMWA — Home cooking is a way to keep hungry young people at home.

Tasty Burritos is a new business in Ottumwa and is located near the intersection of Church and Davis streets. The restaurant is on the lagoon side of Church Street.

Owners Monica Baez and Jose Incencio opened their new business Jan. 14. Incencio syas this type of restaurant was one that the town truly needed.

“Ottumwa has needed a place like this,” he said. “The kids can eat while they’re watching Cartoon Network, and the parents can sit a while and relax.”

Incencio said people work eight hours or more and then work at home getting the kids to go to sleep, and then the routine starts all over again.

Tasty Burritos also offers a conference room which families can use when they get off early. The room also has an erase board for workers who want to discuss projects, eat a meal and go home early.

Or the group may have DVDs to watch and study.

“It’s a multi-purpose room,” Incencio added.

Tasty Burritos is known for its burritos and all the fixings. Incencio pointed out the different types of wraps for the burritos and all the ingredients that can go inside the burrito wrap.

“I love all the food, and we need more of it in Ottumwa,” he said. “I love Ottumwa — it reminds me of home. There aren’t any gangs, and the police help us keep our family businesses.”

Incencio noted he could leave his car parked on Ottumwa’s streets.

“Ottumwa isn’t like Des Moines or going to Arizona,” he said. “They have more events, but people get bored.”

Incencio also said he talks to kids to see how they’re doing.

“I think it makes them feel like someone is interested,” he said.
