OTTUMWA — At approximately 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, the Ottumwa Police Department received a call reporting an individual lying on the sidewalk at Mary and Ransom Streets.
Officers discovered the individual was dead, but based on the preliminary investigation, no foul play is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
The name of the individual is being withheld pending notification of the family.
