Donna Jean Crosson, 84, of Eddyville, died Nov. 19, 2012, at her home.
Donna was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Eddyville to James and Hattie (Berry) Powell. Donna was united in marriage on Aug. 7, 1949, at the Eddyville Christian Church to Paul “Shorty” Crosson. They were blessed with almost 57 years of marriage and six children, Deb, Rick, Craig, Diane, Denise and Christi. Shorty died July 19, 2008.
She attended and graduated from Eddyville High School, Class of 1946.
Donna was a homemaker all her life and she was a cook for the Eddyville Schools for over 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved going to her grandchildren’s activities. She was also a member of the Eddyville First Christian Church.
Donna is survived by her six children, Deb (Roy) McKim of Oskaloosa, Rick Crosson of Brooklyn, , Diane (Rick) DeZwarte of rural Eddyville, Denise (Tony) Fenton, Craig (Wanda) Crosson and Christi (J.R.) Wade, all of Eddyville. Donna is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Kenneth Powell; and two sisters, Ruth Gutch and LaRue Powell.
Funeral services for Donna will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel; with Rev. Jill Leveck officiating. Burial will follow services at Highland Cemetery of Eddyville, with Donna’s grandchildren being casketbearers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel with Donna’s family present from 6-8 p.m.
An open memorial has been established.
