OTTUMWA —
Kenneth R. “Kenny” Ebelsheiser, 60, passed away Nov. 16, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
Kenneth R. Ebelsheiser was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Ottumwa and graduated from Walsh High School in 1970. Kenny was employed by Johnson Controls for 35 years, until his retirement in 2008. He was a 40-year member of Local 33. Kenny began working at the Marian Home shortly after his retirement, where he truly enjoyed his time with the residents. He was an avid outdoorsman, where he spent many seasons hunting, fishing and enjoying his boat. Kenny also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
He loved his wife and family more than anything in the world. His big smile and charming laugh brought joy to all those who knew and loved him.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Ryan (Alyssa) Wierson, Jason (Deanne) Ebelsheiser, Angie (Justin) Jensen, Jeremy Ebelsheiser, Megan (Mitch) Ronnei, Jessica (Justen) VanVacter and Bret (Samantha) Wierson; nine grandchildren; his siblings, Gary Ebelsheiser, Jeannie Thorton, Rita McInerney, Denny Ebelsheiser, Luann Edgington and Mark Ebelsheiser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Winnie (Fabritz) Ebelsheiser.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, Fort Dodge; with Pastor James Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Callender Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
