AGENCY —
Natalie R. Boos, 89, formerly of 337 Mahaska, Agency, died Jan. 22, 2013, at Vista Woods Care Center, Ottumwa.
She was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Ottumwa to Henry and Ellen Richards Hyde.
Natalie was a counter girl at The Canteen, where she met her future husband when he was on leave from the Army. She and Roger Boos were married Aug. 19, 1949, in Ottumwa. He died in 1989.
She worked at Spurgeon’s in Ottumwa and Fairfield. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 455 Olive and Oak in Agency, a 4-H leader, a member of ABWA and an Agency Library Board member and volunteer.
She antiqued, was a great St. Louis Cardinal fan and traded baseball cards with her grandsons.
Survivors include two sons, Tom (Jerrie) Boos of Ottumwa and Dan (Doris) Boos of Agency; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home; with Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday.
Memorials may be made to Agency Library or Agency Methodist Church Children's Ministries.
