OTTUMWA —
Patricia Jean Anderson, 87, of 550 S. Ferry St. died at 3:24 p.m. December 22, 2012 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born March 30, 1925 in Ottumwa to William and Ruth Kerlin Pierce. She married Thad Anderson September 30, 1946. He preceded her in death July 10, 2002.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1943, she worked for John Morrell and Co. for 8 years at St. Joseph Hospital for 15 years.
Patty was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are her four children, Tim (Sandy) Anderson of Gainesville, FL, Kathy (Wayne) Long of Ottumwa, Jane Anderson and Terry (Phyllis) Anderson both of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren, Thad, Jill, Christy, Tara and Liam; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Judy Overturf of Bloomfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bill Pierce.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding.
