Chuck Clyde Woodland, 88, of Albia, died on Dec. 6, 2012, at his residence under the care of Monroe County Hospice.
He was born on June 9, 1923, to Johnson and Anna Bell (Davis) Woodland. He married Lela Cooper on April 13, 1942, in Unionville, Mo. Lela preceded Chuck in death.
Chuck was a maintainer for the state of Iowa. He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Albia. He enjoyed watching sports on television, doing yard work for himself and his neighbors and especially visiting with family, friends and his church family.
He is survived by his sister, Viola Allison of Albia; nephews, Gary (Carol) Allison of Monmouth, Ill., and Daryl (Kay) Allison of Marshalltown; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Doretta Clair and Myrtle DeVore; and nephew, Jack Wellman.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia; with Pastor Vince Belt officiating. A funeral luncheon will follow services at the Cornerstone Community Church.
Chuck’s family will be present from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home to greet friends before services.
