OTTUMWA —
Helen Marie Gard-Dean, 64, of Chicago, Ill, formerly of Ottumwa, died Oct. 9, 2012 at her home after a brief illness.
Helen Marie was born Oct. 25, 1947, in East Chicago, Ind., to Cread and Helen Gard.
She moved to Chicago and married Cliff Robinson in 1967, where they lived and raised four daughters. She married James Dean in 1994.
Helen loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed her plants, embroidering, shopping, home decorating, listening to oldies music and their cat, Licorice.
Helen Marie was greatly loved and will be missed by her husband, James Dean; four daughters, Barb Robinson-Olique (Warren), Betty Robinson, Oma Gonzalez (Aler) and Sherry Robinson; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Chaz, Michael, Hannah, Jacob, Leah and Chelsea, all of Chicago; a sister, Kim Hoff (Mark) of Ottumwa; a niece, Kaylynn Greenstreet (Kevin); two nephews, Bo Manary (Kellie) of Seattle, Wash., and Todd Manary (Stacie) of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cread and Helen Gard.
The family gathered for a private service at her home.
