AGENCY —
Harold Eugene “Geno” Skinner, 57, of 7022 Camp Arrowhead Rd., died at 2:42 a.m. October 23, 2012 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born October 24, 1954 in Ottumwa to Harold Francis and Delores Bartell Skinner. He married Carla K. Schindler on October 13, 2007.
A graduate of Antioch High School in Antioch, CA, Geno served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He had worked as a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Carla; two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Gregory of Taft, CA and Chellie Ann of Bakersfield, CA; a son, Jimmie Eugene (Misty) Skinner of Corydon; two step-sons, Travis (Erika) Mull and Trenton Mull both of Ottumwa; a step-daughter, Amber Garr of Agency; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; his parents, Harold and Delores “Dee” Skinner of Ottumwa; two sisters, Victoria (Floyd) Line of Ottumwa, Debra (Jim) Dossey of Sacramento, CA; two brothers, Kenneth (Connie) Skinner of Fremont and Steven Skinner of Ottumwa; half-sister Sharon Kay; mother-in-law Marilyn Schindler of Agency; special friends, Shadow, Eddie, Chris, John and his eight dogs.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in the Agency Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society, P.O. Box 1149, Ottumwa, IA 52501.
