KEOSAUQUA —
Mary Elizabeth Baker, 86, of Keosauqua, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.
She was born Aug. 1, 1926, in rural Keosauqua to Harvey A. and Cleva Wallis Wiley and lived a few years in Keokuk, where she married John P. Davison. They later divorced.
On Jan. 28, 1953, she married Walter V. Baker Sr. of Keosauqua. Most of their married life was spent in rural Van Buren County, where they engaged in farming, and Mary was a farm homemaker.
Surviving are a stepson, Walter (Phyllis) Baker Jr. of Keokuk; three sons, William (Ruby) Davison of LaBelle, Mo., Bradley (Trudi) Baker of Kahoka, Mo., and Brian Baker of Keosauqua; three daughters, Debra (Ted) Roberts of Milton, Darla (Kenny) Reynolds of Ottumwa and Denise (Jeff) DaVolt of rural Keosauqua; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and seven brothers.
Private graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua; with Kevin Mote, minister of Milton Christian Church, officiating.
In accord with Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
Memorials to Purdom Cemetery or Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren may be left at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua or mailed to Debra Roberts, 204 E. Oak St., Milton, Iowa 52570.
