OTTUMWA —
Betty Jean Frazier, 84, formerly of 223 E. McLean, died March 6, 2013 at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born June 5, 1928 in Ottumwa to George William and Effie Olive Riggs Barker. She married Charles Melvin Frazier on September 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2001.
Betty had worked at East End Food Mart, Frazier Food Fair, Pacific Packing and McCurdy Seed. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. She loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Frazier and Robert “Pat” (Cindy) Frazier both of Ottumwa, Wesley (Pamela K.) Frazier of Drakesville; two daughters, Judy Hull of Ottumwa and Connie (Chuck) Wilcox of Hedrick; 35 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, LaVern Barker of Ottumwa; special nieces and nephews, Nancy (Jim) Sanford, Sue Anne (Robin) Fitzsimmons and Tony (Anita) Barker.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Frazier; a son, Charles Russell Frazier; a grandson, Charles T. “Chuck” Frazier; a great-granddaughter, Riley Frazier; two brothers, her twin Robert and Clarence; four sisters, Ruth, Marie, Reva and Veva.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with her grandson, Pastor Shane Frazier, officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to the family.
