OTTUMWA —
Keith E. Sapp, 86, formerly of 919 Boone Ave., died at 1:43 a.m. March 6, 2013 at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa.
He was born July 12, 1926 in Carroll, IA to Charles Raymond and Myrtle Irene Harrison Sapp. He married Arlene Mae Schulz on January 31, 1947. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2011.
Keith was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1944 to 1946.
He was a master electrician and owned and operated Keith Sapp Electric.
Keith and his wife enjoyed square dancing, having belonged to B-Squares and Dudes & Dolls. He was a member of Empire Masonic Lodge #269 A.F. & A.M. and a lifetime member of Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving is a son, Gary (Donna) Sapp at Parkridge, IL; a daughter, Dianna Hartman of West Des Moines; 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Gary) Caldwell, Brian (Mary) Utoft, Mark (Toni) Utoft, Ben Utoft, Andrew (Maureen) Sapp, Julie (William) Dickinson, Eric (Alona) Sapp and Abby Sapp; five great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hardy, Emma Utoft, Jessica Utoft, Thomas Dickinson and Lorelai Dickinson.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Utoft.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. David Bowden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Thursday. The family will be present one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Eldon Christian Church.
