OTTUMWA —
David Lee Randolph, 67, of Greenwood, Miss., formerly of Ottumwa, died Feb. 25, 2013, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., from heart failure.
He was born in Ottumwa on Oct. 29, 1945, to the late George Lester and Sylvia Carder Randolph.
He was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and Southern Bible College in Houston, Texas. He has been an ordained minister since 1968 and was an insurance representative for Liberty National Life for 27 years. He was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God in Greenwood, and his hobbies were hunting, fishing and camping. He was a devoted husband and father and was a master chef.
He is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Carolyn Long Randolph of Greenwood, Miss.; son, David Dwight Randolph of Greenwood, Miss.; brother, Frank Randolph of Des Moines; two sisters, Dee Ferris of Glidden and Ruth Ann Randolph of Sergeant Bluff.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George Lester “Butch” Randolph Jr., Dwight Randolph and Terry Randolph; and two sisters, Rosetta Perry and Diane Fouts.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God in Greenwood; with Rev. Ronald Minor, Rev. Bernard Wiggins and Rev. Dwight Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery in Carroll County.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. this evening at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood and begin again at noon Friday until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Randolph’s nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Johnson, Carl Long, Richard Denniston and Tommy Long.
