OTTUMWA —
Linda E. Bullock, 64, of 212 N. McLean, died at 6:55 p.m. February 20, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born May 28, 1948 in Ottumwa to Frank and Martha Sloan Fisher. She married John E. Bullock on July 8, 1972.
Linda had worked at the Fairfield Inn, Vista Woods Care Center, Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center, and was a CNA when she worked at Sunnyslope Care Center.
She was awarded the Governor’s Volunteer Award by Governor Branstad for her work with the Iowa Department of the Blind. Linda was a Brownie leader, knew Braille and was an artist. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and bingo.
Surviving is her husband, John; a daughter, Angela (Eddie) Shepler of Ottumwa; a son, Joe (Stacie) Bullock of Ottumwa; two step-sons, Scott Bullock of Ottumwa and Shawn (Cheri) Bullock Allen of Albia; 6 grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Frank (Shirley) Fisher of Ottumwa and Mike (Vicki) Fisher of Bloomfield; a sister, Barbara Sue Staton of Alabama; and her dog Little Bud.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved dog, Junior.
Her body has been cremated.
A Celebration of Life and Open House will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 2, 2013 at her home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her family or the Iowa Department of the Blind.
Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
