OTTUMWA —
Nolda Elaine Jacobs, 97, of Ottumwa, formerly of the Fremont area, died at 12:27 p.m. March 12, 2013 at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born August 13, 1915 in Lancaster, MO to Guy and Oma Dabney McCullough. She was a graduate of Sigourney High School.
She married Casper C. Jacobs on June 18, 1933 in Sigourney. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1998. Nolda and Casper farmed in the Sigourney area until 1950, then moved to a farm in the Fremont area, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church, the church Women’s Club and the church Circle. Nolda enjoyed baking wedding cakes and cross stitching. Nolda had a strong faith and was a very giving and positive person.
Surviving are three daughters, Nadine (Bob) Clark of Overland Park, KS, Connie (Tom) Toemmes of Ankeny and Trudy Roggentien of Ottumwa; 5 grandchildren, Scott (Stephanie) Clark, Kathy (Jim) Foster, Cyndi Toemmes, Beth Hennigan, Tara (Gene) Seaba; 11great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Mary Saxton of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Ronald McCullough of Jewett City, CT.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmo McCullough and a sister, Helen Thompson.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fremont United Methodist Church with Revs. Ronald Bupp and David Klanderman officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Fremont United Methodist Church.
