KIRKVILLE —
Donna R. James, 81, of Kirkville, died Feb. 4, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Libertyville to Fredrick and Pauline Duke Durflinger. She married Gordon James June 10, 1950, in Ottumwa; he preceded her in death May 7, 1987.
Donna loved to fish and hunt mushrooms, as well as NASCAR, Elvis and John Wayne, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a lifelong resident of Ottumwa.
Donna is survived by two sons, Rick (Kim) and Ron, both of Kirkville; one daughter, Joni (Ray) Garrett of Agency; five grandchildren, Cory, Matthew, Sarah, Aaron and Kaitlyn; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one great-grandson; two brothers, Arnold and Larry Durflinger; and one sister, Cleo Johnson.
As were her wishes, her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene; with Pastor Mark Eigsti officiating.
No formal visitation is planned.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to hospice of Mahaska County.
Shrine of Memories Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
