HEDRICK —
Gerritt Lynn Lisk, 70, of Hedrick, passed away Jan. 21, 2013, at his home in Hedrick.
He was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Oskaloosa, the son of Myerl and Edna Shelton Lisk. Gerritt was united in marriage to Marjorie Burtlow in Hedrick April 23, 1994.
He attended Fox Run and White Oak country schools, Hedrick School and Martinsburg School. Gerritt was employed at Steve’s Feed Service, Highway 92, Walnut; Zook Auction Service in Highland Center; and Hackert’s Wood Products in Richland for the last 18 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, collecting antiques, listening to music, drinking coffee and Pepsi, attending garage sales, collecting Coke memorabilia, but most of all spending time with his three grandsons and other family members.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Lisk of Hedrick; a son, Jim Keasling of Hedrick; a daughter, Kim (Mark) Weber of Sigourney; three grandsons, Keaton, Kyle and Karson Weber, all of Sigourney; four sisters, Shirley (Bob) Stock of Kansas City, Mo., Virginia McCollum of Dalhart, Texas, Lola Cain of Lansing, Kan., and Becky (Phil) McKinney of Eddyville, Ken.; four brothers, Keith (Barb) Lisk of Higbee, Mo., Walt Lisk and Lee (Josephine) Lisk, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Bruce (Sharon) Lisk Cahill of Clarinda.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Gerritt Lynn Lisk Jr. and Howard Duane Keasling
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Fremont Funeral Chapel; with Rev. Bill Hornback officiating. Burial will be in the Coal Creek Cemetery Southwest of Oskaloosa.
Visitation will open at noon Thursday at the funeral chapel with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Gerritt Lisk Memorial Fund in care of the Fremont Funeral Chapel, Walnut and Main streets, Post Office Box 276, Fremont, Iowa 52561.
