OTTUMWA —
Judith A. Logan Legnard, 75, of Ottumwa, died Jan. 10, 2013, at Hospice House.
She was born Jan. 19, 1937, in Ottumwa to John A. and Mary A. Carey Logan. She married Robert Legnard Dec. 5, 1997, in New York.
She graduated from Ottumwa High School and attended Drake University. She lived in California many years before moving to upstate New York, where she opened a restaurant and ran it for 10 years. She retired and moved to the Carolinas before returning to Ottumwa. Judy had many adventures and was a talented artist. She loved to dance, cook and lived life to the fullest. A kind, caring and gentle person, she was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Ottumwa; one brother, John Christopher (Carol) Logan of Ottumwa; one sister, M. Kay Logan of Kattskill Bay, Lake George, N.Y.; stepmother, Erna Howe Logan of Ottumwa; three stepbrothers, Dale (Jeannie) Howe of Ottumwa, Darryl (Janice) Howe of Naperville, Ill., and Dennis (Joanne) Howe of Rockford. Ill.; a niece, Anne (Bryan Kramer) Gray of Denver; nephews, John Logan Gray of Queensberry, N.Y., and Ian and Aaron Logan, both of Ottumwa; and many stepnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, John Evan Logan; and a stepsister, Donna Howe Hahn.
Memorial Mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Visitation; with Father Bernie Weir officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davis and Wapello Counties, 627 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
