EDDYVILLE —
John D. Walker, 60, of Arizona, formerly of Eddyville, passed away Dec. 27, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was born July 16, 1952, to John and Helen Fisher-Walker. John graduated from Eddyville High School. Upon graduating, he moved to Des Moines, where he pursued a career in the medical field as a respiratory therapist. In 1977, he moved to Denver, Colo., and continued to work as a respiratory therapist. In 1989, he graduated from Boulder University with a degree in computer science. Shortly after that, he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., and worked as a software manager for MSI. His job involved traveling, which he loved.
John is survived by his parents, John and Helen Walker of Eddyville; a sister, Beth (Harold) Sapp of Eddyville; and a niece, Raechel Sapp, of Eddyville.
He was preceded in death by two sets of grandparents; a brother, Donny; and a sister, Susie.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Church in Eddyville; Father Bernie Weir officiating. Per his wishes, the body has been cremated and will be buried at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
