OSKALOOSA —
Cecilia Kay (Estes) Wood, 72, of Oskaloosa, died Dec. 24, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born Nov. 13, 1940, in Iowa City, the daughter of Cecil and Dorothy Goodell Estes. On Dec. 3, 1968, she was united in marriage to James Wood at Fairfield, and they later divorced.
She attended Washington High School in Washington. Cecilia worked various jobs until going back to school at Indian Hills for nursing. She graduated from Indian Hills in 1987 with her R.N. She then worked at Pella Regional Health Center for 10 years and lastly at Washington County Hospital until her retirement in 2005. She loved Elvis, fast cars and being outdoors.
Her family includes her four sons, Doug Hole and Tracey Hole, both of Oskaloosa, Brian (Barb) Hole of Coralville and William (Soari) Hafel IV of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Cindy Reinier of Fremont and Marlo (James) Hubbell of Oskaloosa; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Miland Lathrop.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa; with Rev. Carla Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Ollie Cemetery near Ollie.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral chapel with the family present from 6-8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Cecilia Wood Memorial Fund.
