OTTUMWA —
Pamela M. Meredith, 69, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Ottumwa, was taken home to Heaven Sept. 23, 2012, at home.
Pam was born in Ottumwa on July 1, 1943, to Victor and Charlotte (Dudley) Barnett. She married James L. Meredith Jr. on Dec. 21, 1968, in Lancaster, Mo.
She graduated with honors from Ottumwa High School in 1961. She was a secretary for Master Plumbers from 1960 through 1970. She retired as a legal secretary from Jackson County, Mo., in 2002. Pam enjoyed reading and traveling. She was highly recognized in the Iowa Jacee-Etts, having received the Patsy Dunham Award (PDA). She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Independence, Mo., and a life member of the Ladies Auxilary VFW, Post 1829 Kansas City, Mo.
Pam is survived by her husband, Jim; stepson, Jamie (Pam) Meredith of Oskaloosa; two nieces; a nephew and her loving cat “Missy Mae.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Vicki Mitchell Chaney.
Her body has been cremated and will be laid to rest at Shaul Cemetary at a later date.
