BLOOMFIELD —
Keith Leon Downing, 80, of Memphis, Mo., formerly of Bloomfield, passed away Aug. 4, 2012, in the Scotland County Care Center.
The son of Ansel C. and Leah G. (Humphrey) Downing, was born Jan. 25, 1932, in Davis County. He married Leslie Ruth Thompson in 1955, and they were the proud parents of two sons, Michael and Scott.
He attended elementary rural school and Bloomfield High School, excelling in academics, basketball and band. Later he attended Simpson College. Keith was employed by Retail Credit Company for 18 years and then entered the car sales business. He retired at age 65 and moved to Memphis, Mo., in 2002.
Survivors include his sons., Michael of West Des Moines and Scott of Memphis, Mo.; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and his ex-wife, Leslie Downing of Memphis, Mo.
Memorial graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Bethlehem Cemetery in Davis County; with the Rev. Richard Friend, pastor of the Bethlehem Church, officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Bethlehem Church and mailed to Rev. Richard Friend, 30830 Silver Trail, Floris, Iowa 52560.
