OTTUMWA —
Richard A. Fogle Sr., 58, of 1202 Hammond, died at 2:44 p.m. Feb. 24, 2013 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born Dec. 11, 1954 in Iowa City to David Henry and Ruth Opal Brookhart Fogle. He married Lori Short on Aug. 2, 1974. They later divorced.
Richard had worked for 22 years at Everco. He then earned a degree in machine technology from Indian Hills Community College graduating with a 3.9 GPA. He had worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works since 2000. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #74.
Richard was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play Little League at the National League Field. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Richie (Misty) Fogle Jr., Carrie Fogle and Casey (Denise) Fogle, all of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren, Zana, Austin, Levi, Bailee, Ethan, Emma and Noah; three brothers, Dave (Geri) Fogle, Bob Fogle and Jack (Becky) Fogle, all of Ottumwa; a sister, Jenny (Mike) Coleman of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Brookhart.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. today with the family present from 6-8 p.m. this evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National League Little League Fields.
