HEDRICK —
Victor D. Daugherty, 92, of Hedrick, died October 28, 2012 at the home of his son near Hedrick.
He was born September 3, 1920 in Floyd County, IA to Claude and Myrtle Christy Daugherty. He married Geneva P. Doak on February 18, 1948. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2009.
Victor farmed for nearly 50 years in the Highland Center area.
He attended the Hedrick-Martinsburg United Methodist Church, had served 12 years on the Hedrick school board, and had been a member of the Hedrick Lions Club.
Surviving is his son, Daniel Daugherty of Hedrick; three grandchildren, Angela, Courtney and Nick; and two sisters, Bonnie Bucklew and Icel Molyneux both of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Daugherty; a daughter-in-law, Paula Daugherty; two brothers, Ivan and Roscoe Daugherty.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fremont Lions Club.
