WHAT CHEER —
Ronald (Ron) C. “Kraut” Boeding, 70, of Camanche and formerly of Vinton and What Cheer, died Oct. 26, 2012, at his home.
Ron was born in Vinton on May 7, 1942, the son of Edward C. and Mary Irene (Flanigan) Boeding. He graduated from Tri-County High School in What Cheer. Ron served with the U.S. Navy. He married Jean Marr Ytsen on Sept. 18, 1976.
Ron is survived by his wife Jean; four sons, C. Scott (Becky) Boeding of Roanoke, Ill., Bradley (Natalie) Boeding of Pekin, Ill., Jason (Becky) Boeding of Low Moor and Mark (Dana) Boeding of Low Moor; three stepdaughters, Tammy DeWitt (Dean Gruhn) of DeWitt, Gina (Craig) Anderson of Low Moor and Leigh (Chris) Nylin of Clinton; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Harry) Burdock of Ottumwa, and Catherine (Dale) Trimpe of Williamsburg; two brothers, Charles (Linda) Boeding of Montezuma and Roger (Marvel) Boeding of Mesa, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pape Funeral Home in Clinton.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
