OTTUMWA —
Marguerite Elaine (McCall) McDowell, 90, died peacefully Oct. 17, 2012, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Chandler, Ariz., after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Ottumwa to John Ernest and Cora (Callahan) McCall. She married Donald M. McDowell on June 11, 1945. After living in Gross Point Woods, Mich., for four years, they moved to Los Altos, Calif., where she worked for Hewlett Packard until her retirement in 1986. They retired to Sedona, Ariz., until 2008, when they moved to Chandler, Ariz.
She is survived by a son, John M. McDowell, Tempe, Ariz; two sisters, Helen M. Luke, Ottumwa, and Ruth J. Brandt, McPherson, Kan.; and one brother, Donald E. McCall, West Covina, Calif.; two granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Mary L. Lasser.
