FREMONT —
William Michael “Bill” Shaw, 49, of 564 W. Main, died at 9:15 a.m. December 17, 2012 at Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.
Bill was born March 21, 1963 in Ottumwa to Gerald and Susan Monroe Shaw.
A 1982 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he had worked as a welder for Vermeer Mfg. for 17 years.
Bill was an avid bow hunter and loved playing golf. He even participated with his family in a tournament in Marshalltown each year. He enjoyed attending auctions, fishing, being outdoors, searching for arrowheads and gardening.
Surviving are his parents, Gerald and Susan Shaw of Ottumwa; two daughters, Ashley (Tony) Robeson of Newton and Sarah Shaw of Fremont; a grandson, Carter; a sister, Julie (Rick) Byrum of Iowa City; a niece, Tabitha and a nephew, Kevin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell “Rusty” Shaw.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Doland and Pastor Suzanne Vogel officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
