OTTUMWA —
Stuart James Smith, 70, of Ottumwa, passed away Feb. 17, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa.
Stuart was born Jan. 4, 1943, in Ottumwa, the son of Kenneth and Beulah Dearborn Smith.
He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1962 and lived his entire life in Ottumwa.
Stuart enjoyed music, art and traveling around Iowa to various events. He was very social and always welcoming friends into his life. He will be forever missed.
He is survived by one son, Kirk Smith of Cedar Rapids; one brother Charles (Lydia) Smith of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several aunts and uncles, Blanche Stufflebeam of Iowa City, Otis (Jane) Dearborn of rural Davis County and Betty Howard of Ft. Madison.
Stuart was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Arletta Brumbaugh Smith; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home; entombment will be in the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the time of service time on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa.
Shrine of Memories Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
