OTTUMWA —
Janice A. Danels, 73, of Ottumwa, died at 10:10 a.m. January 15, 2013 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born June 30, 1939 in Ottumwa to Harold A. and Velma S. McAfee Danels.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she had attended Northeast Missouri State University.
She was with Sorden Music and then West Music for forty-seven years retiring as office manager in 2004.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past member of Wapello County Genealogical Society. She played with the Ottumwa Municipal Band for many years.
Surviving are two sisters, Maxine Hall of Omaha, NE, and Arlene Dooley of Ottumwa; her dear friend, Darlene Wise of Ottumwa; five nieces, Diane Logan of Ottumwa, Debbie Hood of Loveland, CO, Sue Hall, Ellen Shultz and Laura Leeds all of Omaha, NE; nine great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Owen Hall and Loren Dooley.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Disburg officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Honorary pallbearers will be her five nieces. Active pallbearers will be Shane Nicholson, Justin Hood, Trevonne Robinson, Greg Hendrickson, Fred Shultz and Larry Leeds.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
