OTTUMWA —
Thelma Lois Wycoff Williams, 91, formerly of Ottumwa, passed peacefully Jan. 28, 2013, at home in Montclair, Calif.
She worked as a homemaker and in the Medical Assisting field for 30 years. She was best known for “give me a hug,” her persimmon cookies and famous green thumb. She graduated from Ottumwa High Schoool in 1938.
She is survived by a daughter, Jerri Williams of Montclair; a son, Stephen (Betty) Wiliiams of Alta Lorna; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Johnson of Ottumwa and Dorthea Proctor Witten of Bloomfield; brother, Jim (Betty) Wycoff of Ottumwa; sisters-in-law, Sandy Wycoff of Ottumwa and Joanne Wycoff of Bert; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Earl Williams; daughter, Janice K. Williams; and granddaughter, Tessa Williams.
A Celebration of Life Memorial was held on Feb. 5 at Draper Mortuary, 811 No Mountain Ave., Ontario, Calif.
