OTTUMWA —
Sylvia Louise Heston, 93, of 446 S. Willard, died at 2:15 a.m. December 6, 2012 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born January 8, 1919 north of Agency to Wilbur and Bessie Smith Johnson. She married Floyd Heston February 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1988.
A resident of Ottumwa since 1947, She was a graduate of Agency High School, and attended the State Teachers College and Drake University. Louise taught school in Nasby and Copperhead schools, and in Woodburn and Agency schools. She later was a substitute teacher, retiring in 1945.
She was a member of Davis St. Christian Church.
Surviving is her brother, Ralph Johnson of Bloomfield; two sisters, Maxine Roulet and Mildred Roulet both of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Johnson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
