OTTUMWA —
Norman Fullmer, 77, of Ottumwa, died Dec. 2, 2012, at his home in Ottumwa.
He was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Hedrick, the son of Erma Fullmer. On June 6, 1954, Norman was united in marriage to Dorothy Carol Anderson at Martinsburg.
He attended Hedrick High School prior to receiving his diploma from the American School of Correspondence in Lansing, Ill. with the class of 1956. Following graduation, he went to work at Kroehler Furniture in Naperville, Ill. He later worked at Lyon Metal in Montgomery, Ill., for 34 years as a supervisor, retiring in 1996. Norman enjoyed woodworking, billiards and antique cars.
His family includes his son, Dennis Fullmer of Dedham, Mass.; two daughters, Cynthia (Lindsay) Barich of Dedham, Mass., and Angela (Daniel) Keller of Chariton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Bette (Frank) Wilson of Ottumwa; a niece, Deena (Randy) Raber of West Des Moines; and a nephew, Mike Wilson of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a brother, Raymon Fullmer.
As is his wish, his body will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. Burial will be in the Brooks Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fremont Funeral Chapel, with the family present from 4–6 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
